Abstract

The thesis presents an extensive assessment of food waste and its valorisation into various biofertilizer products. To advance sustainability in agricultural practices, this research delves deeplyinto the effects of common food waste biofertilisers (compost and digestate) on soil health and cropproductivity with the additions of inorganic N. Furthermore, it explores strategies for the enhancementand optimization of these fertilisers to ensure maximum efficacy and environmental benefit. Enhancing the value of biofertilisers in the waste management sector will drive investment insustainable practices like anaerobic digestion, effectively reducing food waste in landfills.
