Abstract
Gary Dufour was the curator of this exhibition of five-channel video and sculptural installation The Refusal of Time (2012 presented as a partnership between the Art Gallery of Western Australia, The Perth Festival and PICA in 2014. Epitomizing Kentridge’s intriguing multi-sensory practice, this new work,Gary Dufour researched and recommended this work for purchase by the Art Gallery of WA in 2013.
The Refusal of Time is a collaborative work. Exhibition curator Gary Dufour was responsible for all liaison with the artist and his studio team to coordinate all aspects of teh installations presentation at PICA. The resulting installation presented an open-ended, immersive experiential work that lyrically questions the nature of time and the politics associated with it.
