Abstract

International human rights standards are fundamentally directed to the nation state. But they also have importance, and use, in guiding the decisions and actions of government agencies and companies. Using human rights standards in engaging with these parties is, however, neither clear nor easy. The session explains why and how international human rights standards are relevant to the decisions and actions of companies and government agencies in Western Australia, and this paper details relevant examples.
