Abstract

This thesis reflects my journey in participating in collaborative research and leading a series of projects to become a senior researcher with high-impact publications and successful delivery of clinical trials. This thesis describes how surgical trainee-led collaborative research enables and empowers future surgeons, with knowledge in research methodologies, protocol design and clinical research skills.
