Abstract

On 22 November 1899, the first news regarding the sudden death of Henry Gray appeared in the West Australian and the Western Mail, announcing the death of this infamous 'Old Colonist', merchant of Geraldton and the Greenough Flats, and 'Veteran of Reform', who played an important role in the development of commerce in the Swan River Colony.
