Abstract
The Witch in the Lab Coat intertwines artistic practice, feminist witchcraft, and biotechnologies toward doubling, doubling, toiling, and troubling the narratives and methodologies of standards and scientific research practices. This thesis presents a series of papers that detail The Witch in the LabCoat project, which arose from a desire to create conditions of empowerment for substantiating lived experiences of the female reproductive body. The project positions my body as primary resource, formatter related to menstruation; pheromones, vaginal microbiome data, serum, and cells are used for laboratory/DIY experiments and creative outputs to support a witchy biopolitical ethos of bodily autonomy.
