    Abstract

VERA (VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry) is the first VLBI array dedicated to phase-referencing astrometry. The construction of the VERA array has been started in 2000 and completed in 2002 April; currently it is at the system evaluation phase. In this paper, we present a brief overview of the system and report the recent status of the project.
