Abstract

The role of patient advocates is becoming more visible in research, bringing their unique lived experience into many different aspects of the research project. The patient advocates from Dutch and Australian families are working together to bring insight into what it means to live within a DCAA family, how this effects their daily lives and what they think you should know about them outside of the context of a (possible) participant. This session aims to bring a Community and Consumer Involvement perspective with practical implications of participant involvement in the DCAA research.
