The Percussion Music of David Pye

Composer, percussionist and conductor David Pye has recently completed a new suite of music for young percussionists, Timbuktu. David is one of a handful of percussionists who have worked tirelessly since the mid 1980s to establish a strong percussion community in Western Australia, and he has composed a number of works that feature percussion for orchestra, chamber ensemble and percussion ensemble. In October 2013, WA PAS representative Louise Devenish spoke with David about the Timbuktu suite, and his work as a composer.
