Abstract
Young Australians in particular are losing faith in their political leaders and their ability to recognise, let alone address, major problems such as climate change. This paper examines the nature of these leadership failures, which afflict both the major political parties in Australia. The outlook is not optimism-inducing, despite some plausible ideas about what might be done and a growing demand for policy solutions.
