Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to explore the internationalization of the creative economy at multiple levels. Study I investigates the different organizational typologies in the creative economy at the macro level. Study II examines the configurational solutions for reconciling global connectedness and local embeddedness at the mesa level to achieve high performance. Study Ill ascertains the effects of market signals and the heterogeneity of audiences on the internationalization performance of creative cultural products at the micro level. The findings shed light on the multi-faceted nature of the internationalization of the creative economy and provide implications for scholars and policymakers.
