Abstract
This article provides an overview of the current Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Learning Area of the Australian Curriculum. It clearly defines the four subjects - Civics and Citizenship, Economics, Geography and History - and learning areas contained with HASS, and establishes a clear platform for the discussion of the issues and complexities of the subject area.
