Abstract

This thesis is organised around three main chapters leading to scientific manuscripts or papers: (1)assessment of the economic value of dung beetles from a farmers’ perspective; (2) predictions of the rate of spread of dung beetles post-release; and (3) estimation of the historical effect of dung beetles on livestock productivity in Western Australia (WA). A variety of approaches were utilised in the thesis, including qualitative research, stochastic modelling, geographic information systems (GIS), and observational impact evaluation methods.
