Abstract

This thesis presents a study of new designs of Multiple-Input-Single-Output (MISO) DC-DC converters for the applications of off-grid solar energy. A literature review is provided along with recent studies of MISO DC-DC converters. A new design with single-switch simplification is applied in three-port DC-DC converters based on Pulse Frequency Modulation and Pulse Width Modulation (PFM+PWM) for solar power applications. A new design of MISO DC-DC converters is also introduced with three-switch simplification. A comparison of four types of three-switch MISO DC-DC converters is given regarding their working principles and performances.
