Abstract
Detailed sedimentological analysis of core from three wells on the Broom Platform , central Canning Basin, was undertaken to interpret the depositional history of the Middle Ordovician upper Willara and lower Goldwyer Formations within a sequence stratigraphic framework. This analysis integrated sedimentological and petrophysical data to establish a depositional model, and carbonate concretions and veins are isotopically analyzed to understand diagenetic processes. A broad inner ramp is proposed as the depositional model for these formations that were deposited in a highstand systems tract during a relative rise i n sea level in the Canning Basin.
