Abstract
This thesis presents an account of the semantics of various aspectuo-temporal forms in an Australian creole language, Kununurra Kriol. Kununurra Kriol is an undocumented variety of the English-lexified Australian Kriol, which is spoken across large swathes of northern Australia. Despite its wide geographic range, Kriol is under-described and only cursory accounts of the aspectuo-temporal domain are available. The analyses presented in this thesis represents the first detailed exploration of aspectuo-temporal semantics in an Australian contact language, and one of the few studies of aspectuo-temporality in a contact language which draws on formal semantic methodologies.
