    Abstract

Tectal tissue from fetal (E15, E18, E20) and newborn (PO) rats was transplanted to the midbrain of newborn rats. Graft survival and size decreased with increasing donor age. Host retinal input was found in E15, E18 and E20 grafts; the specific pattern of retinal innervation was similar for all fetal donor ages.
