Swan River Crossings Urban and Landscape Design Analysis

Research output: Book/ReportOther output

Abstract

The Fremantle Traffic Bridge is reaching the end of its life as an effective crossing of the Swan River. This is principally owing to the age of the structure, its deteriorating structure and the constraints and complications it places on marine navigation. The objective of this study by AUDRC is to evaluate the preferred option for the replacement of the Fremantle Traffic Bridge and associated new rail and pedestrian crossings - The Swan River Crossings project - in terms of its urban design and landscape elements. This report presents a preliminary analysis effectively incorporating and refining place objectives to inform the design process.
