Abstract
This thesis focuses on architectural education as a means of positive change in response to the impact of the built environment on climate change. Architectural education theories and new methods of documentation inform an understanding of the complex process of architectural learning in which the development of core skills of critical reflection, collaboration and communication are made explicit. These skills strengthen designers' understanding of changing situations, use of shared languages, and engagement with diverse communities. The emergent framework defines the transformative experiences in architectural learning that contribute to a resilient and responsive design process.
