Abstract

This thesis aimed to support, implement, and translate (SIT) with Aboriginal communities to build healthy skin knowledge together to see, treat, prevent (SToP) skin infections in Aboriginal children living in homeland communities in the Kimberley region of WA. Situated within the broader See, Treat, Prevent (SToP) Trial this thesis makes an important methodological contribution to Aboriginal health research and health promotion in that the five research projects reported in this work challenged historical Western methods of conducting clinical trials and demonstrate a decolonising, empowerment approach to address the burden of skin infections.
