Abstract

Steric forces within a hexaaza bicyclic cobalt cage system cause chromophore expansions which bring about extraordinary transformations in the CoN6 chemistry, leading to (CoN6)-N-III/II redox potentials close to +0.8 V (vs. SHE) and Co-II hexaamine complexes that are air and substitution stable.
