    Abstract

    Steady streaming due to an oscillatory flow around a circular cylinder close to and sitting on a plane boundary is investigated numerically. Two-dimensional (2D) Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved using a finite element method with a k-omega turbulent model. The flow direction is perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. The steady streaming around a circular cylinder is investigated for Keulegan-Carpenter (KC) number of 2
