Abstract
Perth’s prized liveability will decline unless it contain its urban sprawl. We need appealing models of infill housing to compete with the popular option of standalone homes in new suburbs on the urban fringe. Sprawl and the City measures a standard home in the sprawl and one in the dense inner-city against thirty-nine diverse economic, social, and environmental criteria. The results are presented in an engaging graphic format to illustrate which odels of urban infill are most attractive and why.A book for anyone interested in the future of Perth and other rapidly sprawling cities, Sprawl and the City provides a roadmap to realise a more compact and enduringly liveable city.
