Abstract

The present patent application describes methods and a device capable of identifying the quality of mechanical patient-ventilator interaction (PVI) based on recurrence quantification analysis (AQR) and recurrence graphs (GR). The proposed technology uses the signal representing the respiratory flow provided in mechanical ventilation equipment to form a time series of respiratory flow that contains the data necessary for the application of GRs and AQR techniques, which includes recurrence rate and airborne entropy calculations. shannon, resulting in a process that makes it possible to identify PVI quality and monitor mechanical ventilation performance. The technology identifies the quality of PVI by associating it with predefined clinical scenarios. The advance provided by technology is to identify the quality of PVI without the need for invasive techniques easily and quickly due to the data compression provided by the technique used (AQR / GR). The technology applies in the context of invasive mechanical ventilation in intensive care units and centers and in the medical-hospital equipment industry.
