Abstract
DevelopmentWA organised a Community Engagement Summit to showcase current engagement techniques and approaches to staff within the organisation.
DevelopmentWA is the State Government’s central development agency, operating across Western Australia with a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial and residential projects. The internal community engagement summit ran over two weeks from February 18th to March 5th 2021. The program involved training, masterclasses and webinars open to staff from within the organisation. As part of this event AUDRC prepared and conducted a presentation of Collaborative Place Design community and stakeholder Co-Design engagement method and hosted a training session in a demonstration workshop format. The Collaborative Place Design workshop was a demonstration activity where multiple teams invited representatives from the community and stakeholder cohort to take part.
The objective of the workshop was to demonstrate the Co-Design method using physical interactive models so that it could be considered for use in the development of each team’s final engagement strategy. Each of the four engagement teams selected the use of the Collaborative Place Design workshops as part of their final engagement strategies.
