Abstract
Anhydrous aluminium(III) tribromide crystallizes from acetonitrile as a disolvate, AlBr3·2MeCN, in the form [AlBr(C2H3N)5][AlBr4]2·C2H3N, which is isomorphous with its orthorhombic chloride counterpart.
