Abstract

World premiere of Australian composer Joseph Chindamo's _Palimpsest_, a work for solo harpsichord (Cecilia Sun) and violin (Shaun Lee-Chen) with string orchestra. Chindamo is renowned Australian Jazz pianist and composer. The harpsichord is rarely used as an instrument in 21st-century compositions, but in this work Chindamo innovatively melds the use of a Baroque instrument and formal structures, with contemporary and jazz-influenced harmonies.
