Abstract
This chapter describes an option of kidney transplantation in the orthotopic region. The indications, surgical techniques and long-term patient and graft outcomes are presented by the literature review. The application of laparoscopic technique for orthotopic kidney transplantation is also introduced via the live animal model. This technique may be employed for human orthotopic kidney transplantation in the near future after the proficiency is improved.
