The article is a review of the visual art exhibition 'The Botanical: Beauty and Peril' presented at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth from 11 July to 2 November 2019. The article is a critique of both the exhibition and the probity of assembling an exhibition in a public institution that privileges works of art drawn primarily from the personal collection of the chairperson of the Board of the Art Gallery, Janet Homes a Court. The review suggests alternative works of art in the State Art Collection which were overlooked by the exhibition curators in the development of the exhibition.
