Abstract

The article aims to investigate, by analyzing the trajectories of seven Brazilian immigrant entrepreneurs in Western Australia, how the entrepreneurial process that established food businesses took place. It contributes primarily by offering insights into the recent flows of Brazilians to Western Australia, a recent phenomenon and the literature and little covered by academic literature in Portuguese. In addition, it also contributes to the literature on ethnic and immigrant entrepreneurship, particularly by focusing on aspects of business creation and development in the food sector that make use of ethnic leverage, although suffering barriers in terms of their configuration. Additionally, the Brazilian context is less researched than that of Asian immigrants in Australia.
