Abstract
The central thesis of this dissertation is that multi-sensor systems based on a random finite set framework can provide
practical, efficient and reliable approaches to space situational awareness. Space situational awareness which refers to the
comprehensive knowledge of space objects and the capability to aid in risk assessment can be achieved with the help of
advanced multi-object tracking approaches. The random finite set framework is adopted in this dissertation for a broad and
principled study of space object tracking. Multiple node networks are adopted for a better performance than tracking with single
sensor.
