    Abstract

Finite element analysis and geotechnical centrifuge tests were carried out to investigate the multi-directional load distribution acting on shared anchors for arrays of floating structures, and to understand its consequences on the anchor behaviour and performance in order to inform geotechnical engineering design. The results show that the capacity of a typical foundation may be reduced by 10% upon application of one multi-directional load episode.
