Abstract

35 Years: this is an excellent opportunity to reflect on past achievements and to make plans for the future. On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the WAGBA can proudly recount many successes. Foremost, the role it has played in bringing people together; economically, culturally and socially. Good people-to-people relations are important for the economy and community. They are underwritten by shared values when entities and individuals trade across jurisdictions. In the case of Western Australia and Germany, their strong basis of comparable levels of political stability and economic well-being, grounded in shared values of liberal democracies and market economies, has enabled this alliance to flourish.

This Festschrift explores an aspects of mutual understanding, respect, trust and collaboration between the regions in areas as diverse as business and the arts, technology and sciences, engineering and music, medicine and tourism, to name but a few.
