Abstract
Objectives: Provide baseline data for Western Australian, assess accuracy of Moyers’, and Tanaka and Johnston equations, and suggest prediction equations. Methods: retrospective study, including 323 females, 177 males (13-18 years) was conducted using Invisalign® technology. Results: Males had larger teeth than females. Significant difference was found between actual and predicted values from both analysis. Different teeth groups showed higher correlation. Regression equations based on best predictor were developed. Conclusions: Moyers and Tanaka and Johnston analysis overestimated the mesiodistal dimensions of permanent canines and premolars. Developed equations, based on different combinations of teeth, more accurately predicted the permanent canine and premolars.
