Abstract

Entangled photonic qudits encoded in transverse spatial modes were characterized by using quantum state tomography. A technique for using this system to implement the best known bit commitment (BC) protocol was analyzed. It was observed that extremely high purities and fidelities were obtained for a range of single qubit states. It was found that the requirements on the initial two-qutrit entangled state were extremely stringent.
