Abstract

A patient presents with a mass in the left forearm. MR-investigation reveals a fusiform lesion in the flexor compartment in the region of the ulnar nerve. On T1-, T2- and T1-weighted images after gadolinium-chelate administration the mass has an inhomogeneous appearance. Location and morphology suggest a tumor of neurogenic origin. After resection of the lesion pathological examination shows a heterogeneous tumor with aspects of a malignant fibrous histiocytoma and malignant schwannoma. Four follow-up investigations with MR-imaging were planned and showed no arguments for tumor relapse.
