Abstract
Recently a class of small RNAs (tRNA derived RNA fragments :tRFs) has emerged. In plants, despite that the existence of RFs has been reported, only few data are available. Three questions have been addressed. What enzyme is responsible or tRF biogenesis, where are tRFs generated and are tRFs only degradation by-products? Using various experiments we confirmed the existence of tAFs in plants, we also identified endonucleases that were good candidates for tRNA cleavage. Further experiments ted us to abetter understanding of tRFs function and biogenesis.
