Abstract
This study investigated three aspects of primary school leadership in post-conflict Timor-Leste, namely, its historical background, its recent developments and the current concerns of primary school leaders themselves. The study was guided by the theoretical underpinnings of interpretivism, employed qualitative methods of data collection, and grounded theory methods of data analysis. The main results are presented according to three key assertions corresponding with each component of the research agenda. The study's outcomes will be of interest to scholars of educational leadership, to education policy makers and school leaders located in Timor-Leste, and in other post-conflict and developing countries.
