Although magazine sales have declined at the beginning of the twenty-first century, the Japanese magazine market still appears to be dynamic. One example to support this view is the category of fashion magazines for men. More than thirty-five fashion magazines are sold monthly in Japan, all of which are pri- marily targeted at men. The oldest of them dates as far back as the 1950s. This chapter explores some of the significant points that we can derive from Japanese men's fashion magazines.
