Abstract

Extraction of the aerial parts of Ophiorrhiza cf. communis Linn. (Rubiaceae) has yielded the new quaternary zwitterionic alkaloid isomalindine-16-carboxylate (3), the structure of which followed from its spectroscopic properties.
