Abstract
This article(1) reviews the important but difficult area of Chinese trust settlement to hold Australian property. The topic is critical in the context of the wealth protection goals of much Australian investment by Chinese residents. It raises difficult taxation issues in Australia, China and beyond. It also raises professional issues in relation to meeting wealth protection goals, as well as ethical and other legal aspects of being involved in such arrangements.
