Abstract

Nanoparticles (NPs) have been gaining increasing attention in various agricultural applications owing to their unique properties. However, it is difficult to determine their behavior in diverse environments and their sensitivity to nontargeted systems due to the lack of studies on their physiochemical properties. Thus, understanding the effects of these NPs on crops is very important. To address this challenge understanding metabolomics is an important study to identify the potential way of action of NPs, and their impacts on biological pathways. The metabolomics approach can help us to get insights into cellular metabolic responses to different stressors. Herein, we have summarized the applications of NPs and their metabolic profiling considering the need of determining their cellular metabolic responses to different stressors.
