Abstract

Identification of the location, magnitude, and duration of an impact force in an elastic structure is an interesting inverse problem of dispersive waves, and it has important applications. This paper presents a preliminary result from the study of the vibration response of a thin plate to an impact force, and the identification of the force using the measured vibration response.
