Abstract

This study describes the development of a numerical FLNG-carrier SBS offloading model, with the purpose of providing wave frequency relative motion estimates. In addition, this model is validated with experimental results of a simplified SBS offloading setup and compared with carrier motion field data measured from actual offloads. Overall, this model is able to predict wave frequency vessel motion in an FLNG-carrier SBS offloading with satisfactory accuracy. Particularly, the model is able to predict roll motion with better accuracy than the current standard industry practice.
