We present a case of a patient presenting with pain and crepitus in her leg and subcutaneous emphysema highly suggestive of necrotising fasciitis. She was referred and eneded up having fasciotomies with no evidence of fasciitis until the true cause was discovered. We are a peripheral semi-urban hospital with no plastic surgery or orthopaedic cover.
