Abstract

The novel air-stable diferrocenyl-based P,N ligands PFc(2)(C6H4-2-NMe2) (1) and PFc2(C6H4-2-piperidyl) (2) [Fc = Fe(eta(5)-C5H4)(eta(5)-C5H5)] for the highly effective palladium-catalyzed mono-alpha-arylation of acetone are reported. High yields could be obtained for the C-C coupling of several chloro- and bromoarenes at palladium loadings as low as 0.5 mol% of [Pd(cinnamyl) Cl](2).
