Abstract

Consideration of an adpative equalization algorithm useful for various different receiver structures employed in the recovery of digital data transmitted over noisy, dispersive channels. A fast algorithm for adapting both the equalizer and desired impulse response to their optimum values is described. The equalization problem is also interpreted as that of fitting an ARMA model to the channel.
