Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

A survey of newspaper coverage and talkback radio programmes in 1984, 1988 and 1990 regarding Aboriginal issues is conducted to explore the ideology and pattern of representation of Aboriginality by the media. Results highlight that media content on Aborigines in the sampled periods tend to mostly portray them in a negative light and as a threat to law and order.
