Abstract

This is an erratum for the paper 'PROSPECT: Generating spectral energy distributions with complex star formation and metallicity histories', published in MNRAS 495, 905-931 (2020). In the original PROSPECT software introduction and application to data paper (Robotham et al. 2020), the units of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) luminosity used in two figs 1 and 15 was incorrectly labelled as 'L_' rather than 'erg/s'. The corrected version of these Figures and captions are presented in Figs 1 and 2 respectively. Note the graphics in Fig. 1 are unchanged, but Fig. 2 also had this same mistake in the graphic label. Since this mistake resulted in claiming AGN luminosities that were substantially larger than that of the observable Universe, it is likely that few readers would have failed to spot the inadvertent error. None of the PROSPECT software presented contained this error (although the code has received unrelated updates for new features since the publication of the paper), it was purely a plotting and presentational issue. Therefore, none of the significant results of the paper have changed, and all later Figures, Tables, numeric values and conclusions are identical.
