Abstract

In this concluding chapter, we identify some of the most prevalent themes that cut across the previous chapters. We also make predictions and recommendations about future studies in psychotherapy. Among these recommendations are “old” issues that have not received considerable attention in recent years. Also highlighted are emerging themes that may, or may not, be retained by diverse stakeholders in the field of mental health. The chapter ends with broad recommendations regarding interventions and methods which, based on current empirical evidence, should be promoted in practice, training, and policy guidelines.
